    Southwest High School's chapter of Village Public Health's Public Health Clubs. W.E.L.L. stands for Wellness, Elevate, Leadership, and Life. Students meet after school on B Day Mondays to build peer leadership skills, advocate for youth wellness, and put prevention-first health education into action on their campus.

    Wellness

    Whole-person health encompassing mental, physical, emotional, and social well-being. We address the full spectrum because health is not compartmentalized.

    Elevate

    Rise above chaos. Rise into purpose. Rise into clarity. We are not fixing youth. We are lifting vision, standards, and self-expectation.

    Leadership

    Influence with integrity. Peer connectors, not peer counselors. Young people leading conversations that change communities.

    FOUNDING SQUAD

    Southwest High School

    Launched January 29, 2026. Focus area: Mental Health. The Southwest High W.E.L.L. Squad is reducing stigma, promoting emotional wellness, and connecting their peers with resources and support.

    THE PATHWAY

    How the W.E.L.L. Squad Connects

    The W.E.L.L. Squad is one of three ways young people plug into Village Public Health's youth leadership pipeline. Each pathway feeds the next.

    PUBLIC HEALTH AMBASSADOR

    Youth ages 14–24 who want to serve their community. Ambassadors earn CHW certification, lead peer conversations, and build LEARNS Act service hours. Many W.E.L.L. Squad members become Ambassadors.

    DELTA YOUTH COUNCIL

    The peer leadership layer of the Ambassador Program. Council members advise the Training Center, mentor the founding W.E.L.L. Squad at Southwest High, and serve as the face of VPH. Joined via the Summer Institute.
