The Village Public Health Ambassador Program is where young people learn how to create change in their schools, neighborhoods, and circles. This is not another club. This is a real opportunity to build skills, lead conversations, and design projects that reflect your life and your community.
Our top ambassadors become the Delta Youth Council, the peer leaders who work alongside VPH staff to design programming, advise the Training Center, and serve as the bridge between youth and the adults who serve them.
The Arkansas LEARNS Act requires high school students (grades 9–12) to complete community service hours as a graduation requirement. As a Village Public Health Ambassador, every hour of service you complete is certified and documented, helping you meet this requirement while making a real difference in your community.

The Village Public Health Ambassador Program is where young people learn how to create change in their schools, neighborhoods, and circles. Ambassadors are peer connectors, not peer counselors, trained to lead conversations and link their peers to the support they need.
The Delta Youth Council is the leadership layer of this program. Council members serve as the face of Village Public Health, helping staff design and implement programming that reaches youth where they are.

Earn your Community Health Worker certification through hands-on training using the Morehouse Curriculum.
Earn service hours that count toward Arkansas LEARNS Act requirements for high school students in grades 9–12.

Please note: Ambassadors are volunteers and will not receive financial compensation. This is a service-learning opportunity that provides CHW certification, documented service hours (eligible for Arkansas LEARNS Act credit), and professional development experience.
The Delta Youth Council is the face of Village Public Health and the bridge between youth and the adults who serve them. Council members work alongside VPH staff to design and implement programming that impacts young people where they are.
The Delta Youth Council is formed through the VPH Summer Institute. Students accepted into the Institute who successfully complete the four-week program automatically transition into the Youth Council for the upcoming school year.
